If you’ve ever done a lot of back-to-back boss runs and aren’t the collect. immediately type, you know that there’s a certain point when new loot drops just disappear into nothing. Today we have a visual representation of that!
What’s Happening?
Loot on the ground has a certain threshold after which the instance can’t hold new items anymore. Or, at least, can’t hold SOME new items. It’s extremely inconsistent and there’s not really any predictable rhyme nor reason to it, but you should be aware you’ve probably been losing loot if you’re keeping a larger amount of drops on the floor.
The Loot Cap Example
Before we check out the video, it’s important to note that, unfortunately, this number varies extremely from example to example. We have players like the ones in the video below getting a solid amount, but there are also those that report losing items after as few as three boss runs!
For b4rn5ey and their buddy, the below was the cap after which new loot started disappearing from Duriel.
It seems picking it up and then spreading it around helps, but there’s still a limit on the upper end as you can see above. For some players it’s just the labels disappearing, and they return when enough is looted but others report items disappearing for good, with nightmare stories of Mythic Uniques shortly flashing purple and then being gone forever as well!
