The mid-season patch is here and it brought with it a new event. We’re getting some early holiday presents!
Presents for All
There’s a new Midwinter Ward interactable in Kyovashad and it’s spewing out gifts! You simply head to it and receive your one-time package. There’s everything from Nightmare Sigils to upgrade materials, as we get four Midwinter purses, ranging from Magic to Ancestral. There’s also the 
Gileon’s Brew elixir for some more XP, herb and material drops and 20% more damage!
The purses drop basically everything. There’s gold, Infernal Compasses, materials, herbs, runes, tributes, legendaries, Uniques, and more.
Also note that the gift is once per account, so you only get one, either on Eternal or Seasonal realms. Here’s Rob opening his presents:
Where To Get Your Presents
Head on over to Kyovashad and find the Midwinter Ward. You simply click it and the goodies will spill out! After some bag-opening you should be swimming in newly acquired loot, then all there’s let to do is sift through it all and head out to the newly Midwinter Blighted Helltides!

The gifts aren’t the only thing that arrived with the event, as there’s some Helltide changes as well, with new enemies and rewards!
Beware the Red-Cloaked Horror’s Return
The demon of crimson dismemberment rallies their Blightfiend minions for another malicious assault on Sanctuary’s denizens. Will you rise to the task and thwart their frozen grasp on the realm?
From November 19, 10 a.m. PST—December 3, 10 a.m. PST, the Red-Cloaked Horror has a chance to spawn in Helltide, instead of a Hellborne, while Blightfiends spread their malice within Helltide ambushes. The Red-Cloaked Horror also has a chance to appear in the Infernal Hordes and Dungeons to ambush you from the shadows. Defeat these frigid foes for increased rewards, such as Cinders, Burning Aether, and more.
The return of the Red-Cloaked Horror brings good tidings as well, for slaying the hulking beast is guaranteed to earn you the coveted—and improved—Gileon’s Brew. For 30 minutes, this fabled Elixir increases your damage dealt to enemies by 20%, causes enemies to routinely drop additional Herbs and Crafting Materials, and grants 15% increased Experience. Gileon’s Brew also has a chance to drop from Tortured Gifts in Helltide throughout the limited-time event.
