Season 15 has been live for less than a week, and Steam player count data reveals that Diablo 4 has almost reached its all-time peak with 64,005 concurrent players.

This surpasses every previous standalone season as well as the Vessel of Hatred release, while also rivaling the Lord of Hatred release:
- Vessel of Hatred peaked at 55,561 players.
- Lord of Hatred peaked at 64,518 players.
- No other season has surpassed 50,000 players on Steam.
It is important to note that Steam does not represent the entire player base of Diablo 4, as many players are on different platforms such as Battle.net, Xbox, PlayStation, as well as Nintendo Switch 2, where the game was recently released. Data from these platforms are not public.
Additionally, Diablo 4 was not available at launch on Steam and was added 4 months later with the Season 2 release.
It should also be mentioned that Diablo 4 had a free week on Steam for the launch of Season 15, letting players try the base game.
Season of Hell’s Legacy
Launching right after BlizzCon 2026, Season of Hell’s Legacy has added tons of content and new features to the game as well as brought back many secrets and references to the Diablo franchise. The seasonal campaign takes players through iconic moments and locations from older Diablo games, such as exploring the Cathedral beneath Tristram and encountering Diablo, fighting Mephisto in the Durance of Hate, and destroying Baal at the Worldstone Keep.
Here are a few more of the features and secrets that were discovered in Season 15:
- Runeword Crafting from Diablo 2
- Old Tristram from Diablo 1
- The Pandemonium Event, Uber Prime Evils, and the Hellfire Torch from Diablo 2
- Whimsyshire from Diablo 3
- Moophisto, the Divine Bovine
- Mefishto, the Lord of Relaxation
This season has proved that seasonal content can rival expansion releases when done right, as many players are asking for these features and references to stay in the base game even after the season has ended.
