If you logged into Diablo 4 this week and noticed the Tower and leaderboards had suddenly disappeared, you are not imagining things.
A few days ago, Blizzard unexpectedly disabled both the Tower and its rankings because they needed to investigate an issue that could potentially affect leaderboard results. The announcement was short and offered very little information beyond a promise that the team was looking into the problem.
Tower & Leaderboards PSA
The launch for the Tower and Leaderboards has been temporarily delayed. We are investigating a number of issues that could affect leaderboard rankings, and wish to ensure it is a great experience for all players. Our team is actively investigating and we’ll share updates as soon as we have more information.
Now, the feature is available again.
Blizzard Fixed the Problem, but Did Not Explain It
When the Tower was taken offline, Blizzard said they had identified a few issues that could impact leaderboard rankings and wanted to make sure the mode remained fair for everyone.
What those issues actually were, however, remains a mystery.
They never explained if the problem involved exploits, incorrect score calculations, ranking errors, or something else entirely. Instead, the next update arrived with a much shorter message:
Tower & Leaderboards PSA – RESOLVED
The Tower and Leaderboards are now live again for players to enjoy. We appreciate your patience as we worked through this issue.
Basically, the Tower is back, the rankings are active again, and the race for the top of the leaderboard can resume!
