Before we get into just how this was done, a discussion popped up in the comments about Damage Reduction caps and whether the 100% was even working, regardless of the tooltip. Various players claimed that there was a limit as to how much you could get, whether it was 80 or 70%. But as it turns out, as long as it’s from one source, you can indeed get to 100%! AoinoMiku demonstrated very promptly:
And it works everywhere, even in PvP zones!
How It’s Done and What to Nerf
It seems the 
Ugly Bastard Helm is the culprit. To get this done all you need is 25 ranks in 
Aggressive Resistance. Previously unreachable, the Ugly Bastard can now grant an insane 21 ranks when fully masterworked. With another 3 from the regular skill ranks and one from 
Shroud of False Death, that’s the 25 needed for 100% Damage Reduction while Berserking! And since Barbarians can very easily perma-berserk, that’s constant full immunity.
The Ugly Bastard did get some changes on the PTR, but they were only to its fire damage bonus and fire resistance, so it seems that the change to the max ranks was unintended.
Let’s hope Blizzard catch this one before the season starts, or we’ll be seeing a lot of immortal Barbarians out there!
