The third anniversary celebrations for Diablo 4 are underway. The March of the Goblins is live, the Mother’s Blessing buffs have been activated, and free cosmetics have begun appearing in the shop.
The event runs from June 2 through June 9. During this time, you can level faster, earn more gold, hunt Treasure Goblins, progress the event reputation board attached to the goblin statue in Kyovashad, and stock up on all the loot and materials you can handle.
How to Make the Most of March of the Goblins
If your goal is to finish the event reputation board as quickly as possible, there are a few options. If you’re willing to enter the Infernal Hordes, there is great potential there, especially if you’ve selected the ‘Total Chaos’ node in your Infernal Hordes War Plan perk tree. This perk ensures extra Chaos Waves and, if you get lucky, one of these may be a wave of nothing but Aether Goblins. This will be great for leveling quickly through the reputation board, but the goblins here won’t be dropping the same exciting loot you’ll find elsewhere.
Running a Nightmare Dungeon with the Treasure Breach affix will guarantee a ridiculous amount of goblin kills, but these are hard to come by.
The Hoarfrost Demise dungeon in Fractured Peaks is also worth mentioning. It’s been a popular goblin farming dungeon in previous events, and the usual loop is to enter, quickly check for Greed Shrines, leave, reset the dungeon, and repeat.
In the open world, Helltides and the Fields of Hatred PvP zone are good options, but, if you own Vessel of Hatred, Nahantu appears to be the strongest choice.
The basic idea is simple: move fast, cover a lot of ground, and hunt goblins where you can quickly spot and chase them down. Make sure you always have Subo selected as your Mercenary so you can spot goblins on the map.
It may also be helpful to turn off Cross-Network Play if you are hunting goblins in the open world. This will reduce the number of other players competing for the same goblins.
Don’t Waste the XP and Gold Boost
Mother’s Blessing is also active during the event. This will increase experience earned by 35% and gold earned by 50% (multiplicative) while the event is live.
This makes it a great time to level an alt or work on pushing Paragon levels. The gold boost makes the goblin event even more attractive.
Claim Free Cosmetics
Alongside the farming bonuses, Blizzard is adding free anniversary cosmetics to the in-game shop. New gifts arrive each day from June 2 through June 6, and players have until June 9 to claim them.
Even if you don’t have time for a long farming session every day, it’s worth logging in to claim the cosmetics before they’re gone.
So, if you’re not too busy hunting bugs on the PTR, why not hunt some goblins instead?
