There’s some very big changes coming to item power in Season 2 (and Eternal), starting this Tuesday. The new max power level has been set at 925, but that’s the smaller of the changes. The other modification is the fact that items will now have minimum and maximum item power ranges based on monster levels.
Today we’re taking a look at a very handy visual representation of these changes. But first off, let’s take a look at what the 1.2 patch notes had to say about them:
Level Scaling examples. Note this is iPower range for items dropped from Monsters of the listed level:
- Sacred:
- Level 55: 625–700
- Level 56: 627–702
- Level 70: 655–730
- Ancestral:
- Level 75: 780–855
- Level 76: 782–857
- Level 100: 830–925
- Post Level 100:
- Level 101: 831–925
- Level 102: 832–925
And then we’re on to the visuals. OperatorOtter0879 put together this very handy chart showcasing the item power progression as it relates to monster levels. This one focuses on Ancestrals only, starting off at the 780 base where they start, and heading all the way up to the new 925 maximum.
Item power is on the vertical Y axis and monster level is on the horizontal X axis:
As you can see above, the main change happens after monster level 100, where the floor progression slows down to 1 per level. That’s also when we can start getting maximum item power loot, and it’s the equivalent of a tier 46 Nightmare Dungeon. However, the higher you go above 100 the smaller the range will be and the better the chances of getting higher power loot, culminating at an 884-925 item power range at NMD tier 100 aka monster level 154.
Let’s see if these changes make items more interesting in Season 2, coming this Tuesday, October 17th!
