A player conducted an interesting experiment and killed the Ice Clan Marauder found west from Kyovashad over and over again to bring you a figure with the amount of Experience gained for every character level.
The character level was always the same as monster level and the experiment was conducted on World Tier 1 with no XP potion or Seasonal Blessing.
Ice Clan Marauder XP Gain Per Level
The amount of XP from mobs increased linearly by +5 per level. A level 1 monster gives 100 XP, a level 2 gives 105 XP, and so forth. A level 50 mob gave 345 XP.
Key Takeaways
- When you’re at level 10 and kill a level 10 mob, you’ll gain 145 XP. When you kill a level 20 mob, you will get 224 XP Killing a +10 level mob gives 55% more XP.
- When you are at level 40 and kill a level 40 mob, you will get 295 XP. At level 50, you will receive 397 XP. As a result, defeating +10 level mobs gives 35% more XP.
- The benefit of killing higher level monsters is less on World Tier 3 and much more less on World Tier 4 due to the additive nature of XP bonuses.
- Its better to kill higher level mobs while being low level. A character level 70 killing a level 80 mob on World Tier 4 will only give you +15.5 more XP, so the monster base XP is irrelevant and only the +1.5%/level bonus matters.
You will find the full Reddit thread with more information below, but the advice doesn’t take into account that doing Nightmare Dungeons in party is a lot faster than running solo.
