Season 2 is off to a rocky start, and it’s not just due to the launch delay. We’re seeing many players report issues with their Battle Passses and Season Journeys, so let’s take a look at what’s happening.
“Free” aka Bugged Battle Passes
First off we have some people receiving free Premium Battle Passes. As reported by several players on the D4 reddit, they had the free pass from the deluxe edition, but had already spent it in Season 1. However, for some strange reason, the option to get the Season 2 Battle Pass is available for them again, as if they hadn’t already spent it on Season 1. Some were even able to get a free Accelerated Battle Pass!
Season Journey Progress Not Working
However, before you get too excited, the Battle Passes are not working as intended at the moment. There are various issues related to their unlocks and the Season Journey being reported. First off the journey chapter challenges themselves are simply not updating at all for many players.
This is especially problematic, since the seasonal questline actually requires you to complete Chapter 1 of the Season Journey!

This type of bug has happened before in Season 1 (although on a much smaller scale). When it was fixed, progress was retroactively rewarded to players for the challenges, so hopefully that happens here as well.
Update: some players are reporting this being fixed, and others are suggesting potential fixes of their own. If you are having issue with this bug you can try to log in to your previous Season 1 character, then log back to the Season 2 char and the challenges should work from that point on (but ones already completed will not update). This has worked for some players, but not others.

Battle Pass Rewards Not Claimable
Then there’s the Battle Pass rewards themselves, as players that have Accelerated Battle Passes (whether bugged free ones or actually purchased ones) can’t actually claim most of the rewards. Some players did manage to get the Vampire Repose emote from it, however, but that’s about it. The issue isn’t limited to just the accelerated versions either, as some players can only inspect their unlocked rewards, but not claim them.
And to top it all off, some players can’t even see the Battle Pass at all!
