After the big Season 2 feature reveal yesterday, Game Director Joe Shely added some more Uber Unique drop info. Apparently players who will be able to regularly take down Duriel, King of Maggots, will be getting Uber Uniques.
As you can see from the tweet below, the items will still be rare, but actually attainable for those that farm the boss enough.
Now obviously what “on farm” specifically means in terms of number of runs is difficult to quantify. And that’s not even mentioning some players’ bad RNG. It’s hard to say that you’ll definitely be guaranteed a Uber Unique if you just farm Duriel, but it does look like there is a path for those dedicated to getting these very powerful items to actually acquire them. We will be getting more information on Uniques in general with next week’s livestream, so we should know more then.
Actually getting to the boss will require materials from two bosses in World Tier 4, the Galvanic Saint and Echo of Varshan. Getting those two to spawn will require materials from Helltides and Whispers, respectively. You can see the requirements layout here:
So, it seems there is a very real path to getting Uber Uniques in Season 2. Will you be going for them?
