There’s long been a debate about just how useful/useless Silent Chests are. That particular discussion seems to have been shut down recently, however. In case you missed it or forgot, these chests you open with Whispering Keys acquired for 20 Obols at the Curiosities vendor, got a major loot buff in patch 1.1.
You can see the (probably) best case scenario below! But even if you aren’t that lucky, they are still dropping a lot more loot than ever before. They seem to be very much worth the 20 Obol cost post-patch 1.1.
So stock up on Whispering Keys and open them whenever you see them! It’s also not a bad idea to put the keys in your stash so your alts can access them as well.
