Diablo 4 fans got another treat earlier today as IGN continues its coverage for Lord of Hatred with a new video that gives players a much closer look at one of its biggest additions: the new Skovos region.
In this newly released 21-minute gameplay video, we get to see the exploration of the zone for the first time.
New Island Region to Explore
Unlike the base game’s mainland, Skovos is made up of multiple islands located right behind Nahantu on the world map. From what is shown in the footage, the region comes with a lot of content:
- 3 Strongholds
- 12 Dungeons
- 50 Side Quests
- 30 Weathered Shrines (a new version of Altars of Lilith)
- 8 Waypoints
- 67 sub-areas to discover
The new main hub, Temis, also makes an appearance, next to some of the open-world events, new enemy types, and the usual mix of exploration you would expect from a new zone.

Warlock Gameplay and Strongholds
The video is played using the new Warlock class, which gives us yet another look at the new class and its abilities in action. One of the highlights is the Saltwind Stronghold, where the player fights off waves of enemies before taking on a boss called The Fathomless One, with tentacles erupting from the ground during the encounter.

Finally, Fishing
Probably the most unexpected part is the first look at fishing. You can cast a line directly from the emote wheel when near water, triggering a small minigame where timing seems to matter. Once successful, the fish just drops next to your character.
And somehow it does not stop there. You can apparently fish in lava, too. Yes. Lava.

Skovos looks pretty much similar to Diablo 4’s current open-world formula, just with a new setting and a few extra systems on top. In any case, there is a lot of new content waiting for players when Lord of Hatred launches on April 28.
