One player noticed they weren’t really feeling the combat flow in the new season’s Nightmare Dungeons and decided to get some data! The dungeon set rotated with the Season of the Malignant, and Blizzard have already announced they will be increasing the density in the next patch.
Ohh_Yeah tracked a small number of their NMD runs (10). They counted out the amount of time spent actually fighting monsters versus the time spent running around. Before we get into the numbers, do keep in mind the post is subjective and based off of Ohh_Yeah’s runs only, and playstyles vary.
The high-level data is they spent around 43% of the time in combat. The best/most combat-y run was up at 65%, and the worst at 21%. You can see the full stats below, how they tracked it all and more.
And while this isn’t necessarily hard fact, many players have shared the same sentiment regarding Nightmare Dungeons in general. Luckily for everyone, this is going to change very soon. Patch 1.1.1 is bringing monster density increases to both NMDs and Helltides. The patch is scheduled to arrive in the next couple of weeks. We’ll find out more about it in this Friday’s campfire stream and we also summarized what we already know is coming here.
It will be interesting to see how the stats change come the new patch!
